The Northeastern Police Ski Championships
- THE SEVENTEENTH ANNUAL EVENT
On March 7 and 8, 2011, at Whiteface Mountain,
located in Wilmington, New York, the New York State Troopers Ski Team will host the 17th Annual
Northeastern Police Ski Championships. Two days of alpine ski racing and festivities, to benefit the
Make-a-Wish Foundation of New York. Competitors must be employed as full time (or retired)
Law Enforcement Officers and their guests. Come join us at Whiteface, the Olympic Mountain.
For the last 16 years, the Northeastern Police Ski Championships has raised over $ 207,000 for
charities. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Make-a-Wish Foundation. The Make-a-Wish
Foundation is a non-profit organization that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical
conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. The Make-a-Wish chapter
selected will be from New York State.
Monday March 7, 2011 - on Draper's
Giant Slalom Race ( 2 runs- The better of the two runs not combined time for age group awards)
Race starts at 10am.
Tuesday March 8, 2011 - on Boreen
Super "G" Race ( Helmet required )
Race starts at 10am.
Banquet at Comfort Inn, 2125 Saranac Avenue Lake Placid, NY at 7:00PM
*** Snowboarders may enter both races (2011 there will be one snowboard division)
The host accommodations for the Northeastern Police Ski Championships is the
Comfort Inn on Lake Placid, NY. The hotel is located at 2125 Saranac Avenue,
Lake Placid. The Comfort Inn of Lake Placid is the location for the Northeastern
Police Ski Championships' banquet. The hotel's rooms have in-room coffeemakers,
hair dryers, microfridges, microwave ovens, and iron/ironing boards.

are attending the "Troopers' Ski Races". A hot and cold continental breakfast is

The 2011 APPLICATION will have award, age categories, banquet and entry fees
information. There will be a team award for the top three teams, age group awards,
two female age groups, fastest overall male, fastest overall female, fastest overall
retired officer and fastest overall guest... And we have kids' racer medals. The
FASTEST OVERALL awards are the combined time of all THREE runs [ both giant
slalom runs and the Super "G" run]. If you have any questions regarding the event,

Championships would like to THANK - Whiteface Mountain, NYSEF, all the outstanding
sponsors, competitors, volunteers and family supporters. We couldn't do it without each and
every one of you. We are proud to announce a check in the amount of $20,000 (twenty
thousand dollars) has been presented to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central New York.
